We visited the duck at Burtle yesterday (Tuesday) for a meal at lunchtime with family. It was very quiet but we were met with a very warm welcome and shown to our table. The food was outstanding. Very generous portions, hot and delicious. I had the ham, duck eggs and chips. It was excellent, as were all the meals, and very reasonably priced too. Fantastic service. It's not the first time we have been here and it certainly won't be the last.
A surprising find! Excellent food, service, and experience - we were thrilled with our dinner! The restaurant is clean and newly renovated with excellent taste. The dishes are superb! I had the duck, which was better than a 5 star fancy restaurant in France. Wow!! Each dish was prepared with fabulous taste and exquisite presentation. The starters were also outstanding and the dessert very tasty - better than any restaurant for miles around! Truly an oasis of flavor. We will DEFINITELY be back!
We went on a Monday lunchtime and were surprised at the amount of people eating there on a cold, grey day in January! However, the welcome we received was extremely warm and friendly. We were shown to our table which had beautiful views over the levels. The service was amazing, staff attentive and knowledgeable. There was a very warm, friendly feel to the place. The lunch menu was very comprehensive and the food was absolutely delicious, freshly cooked and beautifully presented. I will definitely be going back there.
We were met with a welcoming smile. The bartender was very friendly and efficient. The food choices were excellent. Food arrived in good time was delicious and hot. An excellent lunch. We shall visit again!

Mrs L and myself popped in for lunch, from initial first impressions of a beautifully thought out interior,warm and cosy, to the service. Despite being fairly busy, everyone kept their conversations toned down, service was super efficient and the food was first class . Get your selves out of your caves and visit one of Somersets' hidden gems....
